EPF Employer login for EPFO Employers and Establishments

EPF employers need to login regularly to file ECR returns and pay their EPF dues by 15th of every month. So if you are a company providing EPF (Employee Provident Fund) service to your employees, here is a quick guide on how to register and login to EPF employer portal.

EPF India is managed by Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) and as part of its tech revamp, EPFO has come up with a new unified UAN portal for EPF Employers and Establishments in Dec 2016. After some time of down time, this new portal is now more or less stabilized as of early July 3rd, 2017. Employers and Companies can register and login on this portal and manage their employees pf contributions as well as file ECR return and challan.

There is also a new found interest in EPF employer login due to Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (PMRPY) for employers where government pays the 8.33% EPS contribution of the employer for the new employment (thus saving money for employer)

EPF Employer Registration and Login / UAN employer login - First time

If you are a new employer, here are steps for registration and EPF Employer login for the first time:

  1. Register your establishment / company at EPFO website - Application for Employer Registration

  2. On registration, you will receive a temporary username and password on the given mobile number as sms

  3. Go to UAN EPF Employer Portal and login with temporary username and password and it will ask you to create new username and password.

Once you are successfully registered (following steps in above section), please follow these steps for EPF employer login:

  1. Go directly to EPF employer portal and login with your username and password using "Employer Sign In".

  2. On successful login, you will be able to see your 'employer profile' on right side of screen. Please verify that all details are correct. These details include:

  • Company name
  • Est ID
  • PF status: Un-Exempted vs Exempted
  • Pension: Un-Exempted vs Exempted (EPS status)
  • EDLI: Un-Exempted vs Exempted
  • Address
  • PF Office

EPF Employer Login - Forget Password or Username

If you have forgotten your password and/or password, there is a link on employer portal for forgot username or forgot password. Click the link and it will ask you details about establishment id and then either your user id (if you remember) or your registered mobile number or register email address. On entry, it will sms you details about your username and password.

  • Question - For registration, which PAN we should provide - PAN of company/employer or PAN of signed authority of the employer

Answer - The PAN need to be of the company or establishment and not of the authorized signatory.

Sometimes one don't know their epf employer details. Luckily you can search epf employer details on epfo website through their search establishment option. As part of this search, you can search using keyword of your company name - e.g., infosys.

Deadline of EPF Payment extended till Jan 20

Due to employers facing issues in EPF employer login at the new portal, EPFO has extended deadline of EPF payments for Dec 2016 by five days till Jan 20, 2017. (Statutory payments are due by 15th of every month normally)

EPFO launches enrollment campaign for left-out workers

EPFO has launched a special enrollment campaign from Jan 1 to Mar 31st to enroll left out eligible workers. Under this scheme, employers can register employees from 2009 onwards with just a Rs 1 per year penalty. Employers registering under this scheme are also eligible for benefits under Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana.
